Analytics reporting is a tool that allows you to analyse and compare figures. This can be based on characteristics of various types or over time periods.
It is used to create tables and grids of numbers which can also be presented in graphical form. For those that use (or are frightened to use) pivot tables in Excel, the results are much the same.
However, you can link the Analytics reports that you use to the Dashboard and provide a live view of what might be of interest.
